The Noé bucket bag was originally designed in 1932. A Champagne producer asked Gaston-Louis Vuitton to develop a sturdy, stylish bag in which he could transport five bottles of bubbly. The Petit Noé is a compact version and retains key features of the original – the iconic shape, generous capacity, drawstring closure – but is made for modern life. The leather strap adjusts for comfortable shoulder or cross-body wear. The strap drop is 26-32cm. The idea of Epi leather was first born in 1920 when Georges Vuitton and his son Gaston-Louis had the idea to print a design on more resistant fabric. Sophisticated, robust, and scratch-resistant, Epi leather is a grained leather printed in two batches that allows for a difference in colour between the deeper layer and the surface layer. Its texture is made to look like moving fields of wheat under the sun.
The leather strap adjusts in length for comfortable shoulder wear. The bag is lined with suede and has an interior zipped pocket for valuables.
This bag is in good vintage condition, please view all photos before buying. The lining inside is in good condition, rare for a bag of this age. This bag was made in 1992.
